Calorie Deficit
Eating fewer calories than you burn, which can lead to weight loss over time.
Definition
A calorie deficit occurs when total calorie intake is lower than total calories burned (TDEE). Over time, the body makes up the difference by using stored energy, which often results in weight loss.
Example
If your TDEE is 2,300 calories and you eat 1,900, you’re in a 400-calorie deficit.
