Calorie Surplus
Eating more calories than you burn, which can lead to weight gain over time.
Definition
A calorie surplus happens when calorie intake exceeds calories burned (TDEE). Over time, sustained surplus can increase body mass. With resistance training and adequate protein, some of that gain may be lean mass.
Example
If your TDEE is 2,000 and you eat 2,300, you’re in a 300-calorie surplus.
