Calories Burned Calculator

Curious how many calories you actually burn from a walk, run, gym session, or daily chores? This calculator estimates your calories burned using your body size, age, and the specific activity you choose, so you can see how your workouts fit into your overall calorie balance.

We use standard MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values to estimate your burn and also show your BMR for context. Use it to plan workouts, understand energy balance, or simply stay more mindful of how you move.

Activity Details

This tool uses standard MET-based equations to estimate calories burned: MET × 3.5 × body weight (kg) ÷ 200 × minutes. We also show your estimated BMR for context. Results are estimates only—not medical advice.

How calorie burn is estimated

We estimate calories burned using MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values. A MET of 1 is resting, around what you burn sitting quietly. Activities like walking, running, cycling, and lifting have higher METs that reflect how much more energy they require, relative to rest.

We combine the MET value with your weight and duration to estimate your energy use for that session. Your age, sex, and height are used to estimate your BMR for additional context, so you can see how this workout fits into your total daily energy expenditure.
